No rest for the wicked, I’ve been traveling a ton the last few weeks and this past weekend we had the pleasure of staying at Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.  This was our first time experiencing Atlantic City so we were very excited to be staying at this brand new resort.

Ocean Resort Casino just opened on June 27, 2018 and it was such a cool experience to stay somewhere that opened so recently. From the moment we pulled up to the valet to park we were impressed. The bellmen came over to help with our luggage and had is promptly delivered to our room. The valet parking was $15, which is very reasonable compared to what you often pay at hotels for parking.

We entered the valet lobby and took the escalators up to the casino level. The entry is breathtaking! The lobby provided tons of open space with not only comfortable seating to lounge, but a couple restaurants, and a bar area to wind down with a cocktail if that’s your kind of thing. The lobby wasn’t the only breathtaking part of this hotel, there is also a beautiful sky garden to walk around and enjoy the outdoors, a fire pit area, and a beautiful aquarium to relax by. There’s a background for any type of person, whether you’re outdoorsy, or find your bliss by lounging indoors, the Ocean Resort Casino has amazing spaces to foster relaxation.

After checking out the grounds we felt we should check in so we could see our room. The check in process was quick and easy.  The staff were all very friendly and made sure we didn’t have any questions.  They upgraded us to a higher floor and we had an ocean view, which made me feel so in tune with the entire vibe Atlantic City has. We could see the boardwalk and pier and loved just watching the waves rolling in off of the Atlantic.

But it wasn’t just the view that made our room special, the whole thing was amazing. We stayed in the Contemporary King, it was very spacious and nicely laid out which made us feel more relaxed as a whole. I was glad that the hotel used very open design throughout the entire building because it really does make things more comfortable.   The bedding was soft and cozy and the mattress was so nice, just the right amount of firm and soft!  There was a refrigerator, coffee maker and in room safe. The bathroom had a large walk in shower and a well lit mirror.  The amenities were top notch.

After unpacking we headed out to explore the resort some more.  There are so many good dining options including places to get  a grab and go snack, a 24 hour cafe, a taco truck as well as upscale restaurants for a special evening.

After getting some grub, a huge part of this hotel is entertainment. There are tons of things to keep you busy in your stay here. For those who love to golf, there is a Topgolf Swing Suite with 11 bays so you can go practice your golf swing or your putting. More in the mood for the relaxation a spa can offer, the resort has you covered on that too. The luxurious Exhale Spa that offers facials, massages and acupunctures and well as a private pool area. Speaking of pools, the resort has five pools including the Poseidon Pool & Cabana Club with three pools and 13 cabanas that overlook the Atlantic Ocean and the Eclipse Pool which is a family friendly inside-outside pool with a gaming area as well.

To top off the resort experience Ocean Resort Casino has many options if you’re in the mood to catch a show. There is Ovation Hall which hosts many performances ranging from concerts to comedy, orchestras to professional fights.  Villian & Saint is a rock and roll music hall and eatery with live entertainment; and there is the fun Ivan Kane’s Royal Jelly Burlesque Nightclub which is an experience unlike any other!

Plus we can’t forget about the casino itself! The casino is clean and modern with a large William Hill Sports Book to place your bets on sporting events. There are roulette and blackjack tables, craps, and a huge variety of slot machines to choose from. The atmosphere is so fun and we had a great time playing a few games!

To round out our trip we decided to check out HQ Nightclub.  HQ is an amazing nightclub, plus in the warmer seasons there is a beach club as well.  The night we were there it was a special night because G-Eazy was performing and it was a Halloween costume party.  The club was packed with party goers in creative costumes.  There are VIP and bottle service areas and a huge dance floor.  We also enjoyed going to the upper lever to be able to watch G-Eazy from above.  There are several bar areas to get your cocktails and the party was so much fun!  G-Eazy really got the crowed going and everyone seemed to be having a great time! HQ attracts many of the top DJ’s and has an exciting vibe.  This club will definitely be the go to club in Atlantic City!

Overall, my first experience in Atlantic City was phenomenal thanks to Ocean City Resort Casino, I didn’t have to win at the casino to feel like a winner for staying there.
